The Mayflower Pilgrim Museum welcome school groups to learn about the Mayflower Pilgrim story.

All our Mayflower Pilgrim workshop sessions have been carefully put together to enhance an educational visit and to help teaching professionals meet their learning objectives. Our team of educators deliver modules lasting 1hr each, enabling completion of 3 plus a lunch break within the day.

For all ages of children our fascinating story captures the imagination, discovering about life in Tudor England, religion and its development, and using the powerful messages we explore the concepts of tolerance and freedom, linking it to the importance of reading and writing providing freedom for all today.

The children will also learn some early American history, understand the roots of Thanksgiving, and explore the concepts of migration.

Other modules are related to the period such as art modules on still life and medieval pottery and a guided tour around a local market town to investigate the development of English settlements.

The price for the the days  workshops including museum entry for children and staff, materials and literature, coach parking is £4.50 per child. Our 'meal deal' lunch can be provided for an additional £2.50 per head.

A pack is available in advance to outline course content, leaning outcomes and the National Curriculum. Souvenirs may be purchased and a list of goods available will be provided.
